Suffering without hope
Diane Solomon was an attractive, successful power woman with a music career and her own television show in England. Then came chronic fatigue. And that meant seven years of abysmal fatigue with deep exhaustion, infections, swollen glands, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, constant tremors, mental sluggishness, depression with despair and suicidal thoughts.
Diane Solomon suffered from ME/CFS, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), a serious neuroimmunological disease characterised by prolonged, extreme exhaustion. Patients' performance and quality of life are often severely impaired for years. Many of those affected are no longer able to work, and some become bedridden. Some require extensive care. The psychological strain is also high because doctors often fail to diagnose ME/CFS. To date, there are no treatments available in conventional medicine to cure ME/CFS. The focus is on improving symptoms and comorbidities and preventing the condition from deteriorating. ME/CFS therapy combines medication and non-medication measures. Even when the physical symptoms are clearly predominant, people with ME/CFS are frequently classified as mentally ill.
Getting healthy with homeopathy
Diane Solomon's ordeal with chronic fatigue is a typical example. She struggled with a sudden loss of energy for seven years before homeopathy helped her regain her old life. Based on her personal experience, she became a homeopath herself and, in her article in SPECTRUM she provides precious advice for successfully treating this debilitating illness.

In addition to chronic fatigue syndrome itself, which can often occur after infection with SARS- Corona, Epstein-Barr or other viruses, our international authors also deal with other forms of chronic fatigue and exhaustion. Most of their case studies reveal traumatic experiences in the past as well as certain personality traits that can contribute to the development of chronic fatigue. For example, ambitious, perfectionist workaholics under constant stress are destined for chronic exhaustion, not only from burnout. Such characteristics are then also reflected in medicines and groups of remedies that are more frequently indicated for chronic fatigue.
Our authors demonstrate with their case studies that the individualising exploration of a case of illness and its unusual and peculiar symptoms can also lead to unusual remedies from all realms of nature.
With this in mind, we hope that this issue of SPECTRUM will help you in your daily work with chronically exhausted people, while also expanding and deepening your knowledge of remedies and your repertoire of methods.
